“M is for Margaret!”
If you haven’t seen Episode 2 (“Chapter 2”), caution spoilers ahead!
Tune into Wednesday’s episode at 10PM EST on FX.
Poor little Flora
Flora spends the weekend with her mother Lee when Mason (her father, who’s allowed visitation rights) arrives to pick her up, being the cute little innocent girl but also quite the cliche of having the sixth sense… we learn she’s made a friend by the name of Priscilla. Priscilla seems cool at first (not really) but during the hide and seek hunt, Lee and Mason find Flora chatting in a nook upstairs. Chatting with who you ask? Priscilla. Priscilla isn’t real, she’s a spirit who’s reached out to Flora to practically scare the crap out of everyone else but Flora.
“I said I would trade,” – “So they wouldn’t kill us. They’re going to kill us all. And save me for last.” – Flora
After the shenanigans that went on with Flora, Mason in an angry rage leaves dragging Flora with him, disallowing Lee to see her daughter. We learn in episode one, Lee is a recovering addict from pills to alcohol. Flora being taken away sent Lee over the edge into a relapse, stumbling around the house in a drunken stupor, Shelby watches Lee fall. In the midst of all this, Lee gets her own share of scares… a wild pig-headed man appears!
Matt finally gets a taste of the horror
“Please… they’re hurting me…” as the phone rings in the hall, Matt in a haze thinking he’s suffered from some sort of hallucination follows the groans and moans which soon turn into laughter. Nurse Bridget and Miranda are cackling at an elderly woman named Margaret we presume. We see a gun and then pow! This poor woman in agonizing pain is shot dead with the evil set laughing happily. They celebrate “M is for Margaret”, we learn later they were at the start of spelling “M-U-R-D-E-R”, although what Matt and Shelby see when they peel away the wallpaper, “M-U-R-D-E” is painted in red there, the nurses never got to finish the job. This is one of the darkest moments during this episode.
These were some of the more memorable events that occurred in “Chapter 2”. Tune in tonight 9/28 at 10PM EST for “Chapter 3”; episode three for more answers, hopefully.
