Emilia Clarke has joined the fold in the new Star Wars Han Solo spin-off movie slated for May 25, 2018.
Clarke is world renown for starring as Game of Thrones’ Daenerys Targaryen. She will act alongside Alden Ehrenreich and Donald Glover, who are both portraying Han Solo and Lando Calrissian respectively.
Not to mention, the film’s directors (Phil Lord and Chris Miller) picked Clarke over other possible candidates who included Naomi Scott (Power Rangers), Tessa Thompson (Creed, Selma) and Zoë Kravitz (Mad Max: Fury Road).
Clarke’s popularity and star power rose due to her role in six seasons as Daenerys Targaryen in Game of Thrones. In addition, her other notable movie roles before landing this part include Terminator Genisys and Me Before You. She currently has a busy schedule ahead of her filming the next season of Game of Thrones, as well as appearing in three other movies (Set It Up, Voice from the Stone, Above Suspicion) before the Han Solo spin-off.
