Stephen King’s two-part television special IT first aired November 1990, directed by Tommy Lee Wallace. This special was an adaptation of Stephen King’s 1986 novel of the same name. Director Andy Muschietti (Mama) will be helming a remake of IT as a film, set for release this September.

Earlier this month audiences at SXSW were fortunate enough to see a trailer for IT early. The responses from the trailer were overwhelmingly positive. Andy Muschietti took to Instagram 4 days ago to post a picture of a balloon with the number 6. The director has posted a picture of a balloon counting down with every passing day. We are at two days and counting. The countdown will end this Wednesday which will be the release of the first trailer for IT.

Earlier today the official IT Instagram page released an official look at the remake with 3 still images. We see an image of the horrifying clown himself Pennywise (played by Bill Skarsgård) hidden behind a red balloon. We see another image of our group of protagonists and another image of Pennywise haunting our group of frightened kids.

The first official trailer of IT will be arriving this Wednesday. Andy Muschietti’s remake of Stephen King’s cult classic IT will be hitting theaters September 8, 2017.
