Believe the hype – Spider-Man: Homecoming is the best Spidey film to date. In this day and age, perhaps people are too liberal with the use of “best” and “worst” when it comes to movies, but this particular film deserves the BEST distinction entirely.

From start to finish with this film, I loved just about every element: the plot, the characters, the dialogue, the cinematography, the action sequences, the moral of the story and more. I wish every superhero big picture could be this good all of the time.Spidey

Trapped in a Web of Excellence

Spider-Man may be my favorite Marvel superhero out there. However, his track record for past movies has plenty of hits and misses (a particular third movie in a certain trilogy still bothers me to this day). Fortunately, Spider-Man: Homecoming now sets an amazingly high bar for everyone’s favorite web-slinging guy in red-and-blue tights.

British actor Tom Holland does an incredible job of making this depiction of Peter Parker/Spider-Man his own. This version of one of the most famous and iconic superheroes in existence is both familiar yet fresh at the same time. Holland puts forth a brilliant performance, to the point where you are rooting for him every step of the way.

Not to mention, for me anyway, I loved how Holland brought Spider-Man’s signature wit and charisma to the table. After all, Spider-Man: Homecoming is an attempt at rebooting this hero for the Marvel universe.

The reboot is definitely a success!Holland

Swing into a Nearby Theater to See This Movie – Now!

I could probably gush a lot more about Spider-Man: Homecoming. To say it is just spectacular would be an understatement. But don’t take my word for it.

Like I said, believe the hype. Other superhero films wish they could be HALF this good.

I hope this is the new gold standard for superhero flicks from here on out.
