In late March we received the first teaser trailer for the remake of the cult horror classic IT (1990); a two part television special based on Stephen King’s novel of the same name. Last night during the MTV Awards we were given a closer look into the film with a second trailer.

Our group of young protagonists take center stage in this trailer. While Pennywise is only seen briefly, his presence is felt as the intensity of the teaser increases throughout its duration. This trailer displays the mystery of Derry, Maine and the kids that inhabit it. We see how our group of outcasts all interact with each other through more dialogue and quips than action. This clip perfectly depicts interactions a group of young kids would actually have.

Don’t turn off the lights during this brand new clip from IT Movie exclusively from the #MTVAwards, airing right now!

The trailer closes with a quick but closer look at Pennywise and he is menacing. Originally portrayed by Tim Curry, Bill Skarsgård engulfs himself as the horrifying Pennywise in his own right and has left his own creepy stamp on the character of the evil clown, Pennywise.

“Children start to disappear in the town of Derry, Maine. The neighborhood children unite together to face Pennywise, an evil clown whose history of murder and violence dates back for centuries.”- Plot synopsis via IMDB.

Directed by Andrés Muschietti (Mama), IT is sure to scare September 8, 2017.
