Announced at E3 2015, Robert Kirkman, Overkill Software, 505 Games, and Starbreeze Studios joined forces to develop ‘Overkill’s The Walking Dead’. A new trailer has been released.

The trailer was unveiled during a live stream on Twitch, featuring Marcus “DJWheatGraham and The Walking Dead creator Robert Kirkman. This post-apocalyptic trailer, set in the world of The Walking Dead, establishes the stage for the first person horror survivor and introduces Aidan.

Introducing Aidan

The trailer opens on a shot of Pennsylvania Ave as it slowly pans up to reveal the White House. Aidan crosses the street amongst other white collar workers and he is listening to many voice messages from family, friends, and co-workers.

The camera zooms in on Aidan while he ponders the stresses of real life. Once it zooms out, the whole world has changed. While the audience was once in a thriving Washington DC, time has passed to show a dystopian, now post-apocalyptic world.

As Aidan walks through the streets of Washington DC, with his bloodied bat in hand, the carnage of what the world has become is visible. It is silent.

Aidan hears a noise in the distance as he approaches an abandoned squad car. He takes his bat and lays on the car horn to lure the zombies. The dead begin to rise and slowly make their way towards Aidan. With a smile on his face, Aidan raises his bat and is ready for his coming threats.

The trailer ends revealing Fall 2018.

Overkill’s The Walking Dead

Set in the world Kirkman created in 2003, Overkill’s The Walking Dead is a cooperative first-person shooter where you and three other players will have to fight the dead and the living.

Each character has their own Special Abilities, Skill Trees, Squad Roles, Play Styles and Story Arcs, but teamwork is paramount.

Not much is known about the game, though Overkill’s The Walking Dead is sure to be an intense experience. The scheduled release date is the Fall of 2018 for Steam, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. More information is on the website, including a link to the Twitch stream with the announcement reveal.
