Fans of the Darksiders series can rejoice with a recent announcement of Darksiders III, scheduled to release in 2018. Here’s the skinny on the game.
Darksiders III Information
On May 2, THQ Nordic officially announced a 2018 release of Darksiders III. As expected, this kind of news has excited fans of the series. This third title is long overdue.
It is an action-adventure series with a lot of hack-and-slash gameplay. Darksiders III has the right recipe to entice any gamer to play in the franchise. This game not only has puzzle elements but fantastic action sequences as well. We follow the protagonist named Fury as she decimates her foes with a brutal menacing whip. Even though she is a mage, the primary mission is to restore the balance between good and evil.
The game takes place in a postapocalyptic Earth landscape with amazing graphics. It is very much a living game, allowing the player to move back and forth between environments. Once again, the Seven Deadly Sins and their servants are your targets to defeat, as with previous installments.
The anticipation for this game has been ongoing, and even after the original company, Vigil Games, went down.
But fear not. Developer Gunfire Games has many members from the original Darksiders (the first and second installment) who will collaborate with THQ Nordic on this third title. So, there isn’t going to be any weird changes regarding what fans can expect as a result of a new company.
“There is simply no team better qualified to create Darksiders III, beginning with our unpredictable and enigmatic hero FURY – a mage who is considered the most powerful of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse!” – Reinhard Pollice, Director of Business and Product Development at THQ Nordic
Though, it will be interesting to see if the developers get Mark Hamill to reprise his vocal role in some way. Even still, the company has slated the launch of the game to be in 2018 and will be available on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
