Warner Brothers Interactive and DC entertainment officially announced Injustice 2; the sequel to NetherRealm’s 2013 hit, Injustice: Gods Among Us. The game was rumored for E3 and earlier this week a seemingly official poster leaked online, and this announcement has officially confirmed the speculation surrounding the game. This press release not only announced Injustice 2 but also delivered minor details about the game mechanics and the reveal trailer.
Injustice 2 follows the events of Gods Among Us “as Batman and his allies work towards putting the pieces of society back together while struggling against those who want to restore Superman’s regime.” Not only will players be able to play as their favorite heroes but players will also be able to play as their favorite villains, including Atrocitus and Gorilla Grodd.
“In Injustice 2, we are introducing new features that will change the way fans play fighting games.”
Injustice 2 will allow players to customize the looks, fighting styles and significantly level-up their favorite heroes and villains. Fans that have downloaded Injustice: Gods Among Us on mobile will be able to unlock the Injustice 2 versions of Superman and Aquaman through in-game challenges.
More details will be revealed at E3 and Injustice 2 will be available on PS4 and Xbox One in 2017.
