Nintendo NX Console

Nintendo announced that there will be a world wide release of their newest console, the NX, in March 2017. There has yet to be anymore additional information about the console other than that it is a “brand-new concept.”

Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild


Fans of the Legend of Zelda franchise will be please to know that a new game will be coming out! Nintendo showed off a trailer for the newest addition to the series: Breath of the Wild. Featuring music that makes your ears happy and a world that is absolutely stunning.  Players will be able to explore the massive world and essentially be able to play the game however they wish.

Some notable ground breaking highlights of this game are:

  • Link can now climb towers and huge structures
  • Link can now reach the top of any mountain
  • Minor foes now live in colonies
  • Paragliding and using a shield as a sled
  • A changing environment that Link must adapt to

Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is expected to launch simultaneously for Wii U and Nintendo’s newest system, the NX, sometime in 2017. There will be amiibo compatibility and a new series of amiibo figures to go along with the game.

Pokemon Sun and Moon

Fans of the Pokemon franchise were treated to some live gameplay of Pokemon Sun and Moon at E3 today as well. For these additions of the Pokemon-universe, players will be gaming as a trainer in the Aloha region. The region is composed of four islands and an artificial island that boast nature’s beauty.


Rowlet, Litten, and Popplio

Trainers will need to select their starter Pokemon from either: the grass-type Rowlett, the fire-type Litten, or the water-type Popplio. The two legendary pokemon in the Aloha region are Solgaleo and Lunala.

Pokemon Sun and Pokemon moon will also be sporting a new battle format: Battle Royal.

Pokemon Sun and Pokemon Moon will be released 18 November 2017.


Play as Sasha, a one armed heroine who goes on a journey in a nightmare world to find her family. Available for the Wii U and Nintendo 3DS in the summer of 2016. Severed is a one player Action-RPG game featuring dungeon combat, abilities, and an RPG adventure style which allows the player to customize how their character is played.

Axiom Verge

With retro gaming coming back into style, Nintendo has announced their 16-bit style game Axiom Verge. The game was entirely developed by Tom Happ over the course of five years.

Axiom Verge will be available for the Wii U sometime later in 2016.

Jotun: Valhalla Edition

New Super Mario Amiibos

On 4 November 2016 Nintendo will be releasing some new amiibos related to Super Mario. We will be seeing Boo (which glows in the dark), Daisy, and Waluigi. There will also be new poses for Diddy Kong, Donkey Kong, Rosalina, and Wario.

Nintendo eShop Discounts

The Nintendo eShop is offering discounts up to 40% on some games between 11 a.m. PT on 14 June to 8:59 a.m. PT 21 June. My Nintendo members who are signed in, have their Nintendo Network IDs linked and have visited the eShop at least once before purchase will receive an additional 10% off.
