Oasis has arrived and is live as of January 3rd after sitting in the Player Test Region last year.

Overwatch-er’s rejoice, Oasis is the newest map for heroes to battle each other against a gorgeous Arabian desert sunset. With an abundance of new ground to cover, the new map allows players to explore new heights. Blizzard added a new feature: the jump pad, placed at the center of chaos.

Oasis is a new Control map offering ample cover and plenty of flanking opportunities to corner opposing teams. Since it’s a new year and a new map, there are new challenges to face.

Consequently, Oasis is a mixture of fun and chaos countered with frustrating choke points. The jump pad might be a recipe for disaster.

On a brief custom game run-through, the jump pad is a prime spot to catapult or crash pretty easily. The pad launches players into the air, leaving them vulnerable to attack. While players are essentially flying ducks, if that hero’s ultimate is charged and ready they can utilize it in unique and interesting ways. In addition, Symmetra mains plant turrets along the inner wall of the jump pad for the ultimate camping spot. Heroes beware for new surprises around every corner on Oasis.

Here’s the description of the new map – Oasis via Blizzard:

Oasis is one of the world’s most advanced cities, a shining jewel rising from the Arabian Desert.

A monument to human ingenuity and invention, researchers and academics from around the region came together to found a city dedicated to scientific progress without restraints.

The city and its inhabitants are governed by the Ministries, a collection of brilliant minds who possess many secrets, which have attracted the interest of powerful organizations from around the world. – Blizzard
