Announced today on Dec. 13th, Blizzard finally delivered us a delightful holiday seasonal gift- Winter Wonderland and it’s here starting today Dec. 13th to Jan. 2nd 2017.
The speculative skins that floated around the internet for the last two weeks literally doesn’t do any justice of just how festive our favorite heroes look. Along with the festive skins, Hanamura and King’s Row are decked out in Holiday decor and toasty feel. Winter Wonderland comes equipped with stuffed stockings filled with goodies a.k.a Loot Boxes and an icy cold snowball fight for us all.
As per usual, Loot Boxes are tailored to specific events. You guessed it, all in-game Loot Boxes are Winter themed and each will contain an item from the 2016 Winter Wonderland collection such as profile icons, sprays, victory poses, emotes, intros, skins, and much more. These will stay with you forever so should you decide to play Torbjörn in his Santa skin next spring, go with what you feel.
New Brawl: Mei’s Snowball Offensive
Suit up for this 6v6 brawl in a single-elimination and playing as Mei has it’s awesome perks. Mei’s primary – Endothermic Blaster will fire snowballs instead frost or icicles, beware the snowballs are one-shot-kill. Players that main Mei, enjoy, really. On the flip side, while it’s easy to take down an enemy with a snowball, once the Blaster is empty there is no reload but instead you’ll have to find the nearest snow pile and reload your weapon giving the opposing team plenty of time to come find and eliminate you, put up your ice walls and cryo-freeze stat. And for Mei’s final perk, her Ultimate changes the Endothermic Blaster into a semi-automatic snowball launcher.
New Holiday Skins
Happy Holidays! We’re off to play Overwatch in our ugly Christmas sweaters and hot cocoa. Winter Wonderland is available right now on PC, PS4, and Xbox One, start updating.
