God of War
Sony started their press conference at E3 today, June 13th with a game play trailer of their new God of War game. The trailer features Kratos training a child (possibly his son) in the art of hunting. Kratos and the kid get attacked by some pretty ferocious monsters and need to fight them off to stay alive. Kratos obviously needs to teach this kid how to shoot his bow better, seeing as he shot Kratos in the arm accidentally at a super important moment.
It has yet to be shown if this game will take place in Ancient Greece, but we can expect some pretty brutal battles and new characters to interact with.
The Last Guardian
After seven years of impatience, The Last Guardian will finally be released on 25 October 2016. As for the plot: a kidnapped boy is left in some ancient ruins and befriends a giant cat-bird-dog by the name of Trico. To escape the ruins the two must solve puzzles and explore the area. From what we can grasp from the trailer The Last Guardian will focus on the developing friendship between the boy and Trico.
The player will have to care for Trico throughout the game and movements will be augmented by some interactions with Trico as well.
Little information has been released about Days Gone so far. We do know that Bend Studio has been in the process of developing it. From a live game play preview towards the end of the panel, I can tell you that it has plenty of zombies and guns to satisfy those who enjoy apocalyptic scenarios.
Horizon Zero Dawn
Horizon Zero Dawn was announced at least year’s E3, but this year we’ve been spoiled with an 8 minute gameplay preview. You play as Aloy, a hunter who lives in a post-apocalyptic world infested with mechanical creatures. The world was infested by these mech-creatures 1,000 years ago and humanity abandoned Earth to escape from them.
This game is definitely one that I am considering buying. The graphics are amazing and I love the whole “mechanical things attacked Earth” thing. Check out the gameplay below.
VR: Resident Evil VII
Sony also announced that their newest Resident Evil game will be fully playable in VR. Playstation VR is currently available for pre-ordering. If you’re in to some spooky stuff and want to experience it in virtual reality, Resident Evil VII is the game for you.
Resident Evil VII will be available 24 January 2017.
Become Human by Quantic Dream
Last year at the Sony’s Paris Games Week conference, Become Human was shown off. This year a new trailer was released for the game. The main character of the game is Kara, a robot who learns the idea of freedom in a world where her fellow androids are used as slaves for humanity. However the trailer centers around an android named Connor who is investigating a crime scene.
At the present moment the game doesn’t have a release date. But the concept behind it is pretty awesome and I can’t wait to see more trailers and announcements for it.
Crash Bandicoot, Crash Bandicoot 2: Cortex Strikes Back, and Crash Bandicoot: Warped will be remastered for the Playstation4.
Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare
Call of Duty. In space. Infinite Warfare is expected to be released on 4 November 2016. In the trailer released for CoD: IW we are introduced to space fights on a space ship. Guns in space and deaths in space. SPACE EVERYWHERE.
Towards the end of the conference a trailer was shown off for a new Spider-Man game for the PS4. Spidey was shown swinging around building and doing his spider-man thing. It seem like this game will be exclusive for the PS4.
Hideo Kojima: Death Stranding
Kojima made a surprise appearance tonight and showcased his new game: Death Stranding. In the trailer we see a naked man (played by Norman Reedus) holding a baby that disappears and leaves oil marks behind. As the scene zooms out, we’re left seeing dead crabs and more death around the place the man is at.
No other information has been released about Death Stranding, but Kojima is noted for his exceptional game development. Any future updates related to the game will be posted here at EloTalk.
