A new trailer for South Park: The Fractured But Whole, aptly named “The Farting Vigilante,” showcases footage for the next installment. After much chagrin to fans when Ubisoft announced delays for the title, this trailer hopes to reclaim some lost momentum for those who wanted the game by now.
Regardless, good things often take time, and many players will wait for an overall better product in the end.
South Park: The Stick of Truth was a successful game in its own right, meaning this upcoming South Park will have high expectations. The trailer says the title will be out on October 17.
A Farting Vigilante’s War on Crime
The trailer, in its campy yet hilarious tone, shows footage of the protagonist (a character you get to create) farting on people. Yes, the person you will play as has to fart on people as one of their powers. We are talking about South Park, after all. Did you expect anything less than something obscene/absurd?
The theme of this title is superheroes. And you see all of the children donning their superhero personas.
As a huge superhero fan, I just cannot wait to get this title when it comes out in October for this theme alone!
Also, the trailer shows gameplay footage of what the battle mechanics will (probably) be like in the final product.
Though I enjoyed South Park: The Stick of Truth, I admit the combat in that game was too easy. It became, shall we say, exploitable once you figured out certain strategies. I remember feeling unchallenged with battles once I devised the appropriate tactics – even on the hardest difficulty!
One of the promises from developer Ubisoft was a better, more dynamic system for battle. Let’s hope Ubisoft lives up to this claim!
Other than that, consider me excited. I cannot wait to play South Park: The Fractured But Whole! October cannot come soon enough.
