Looks like for those of you who are patiently waiting for the release of Uncharted 4, you’ll have to wait just a little bit longer. Playstation released an announcement today with yet another postponement of the fourth installment of the Uncharted series, now targeting the release date to be May 10, 2016.
While this is certainly disappointing for fans who have expected the game to be out since December of last year, this time though it appears that manufacturing was the reason behind the delay.
According to Playstation’s Shawn Layden, “In an effort to meet the considerable worldwide demand, and to ensure that all gamers worldwide have the opportunity to play the game on day one, we have chosen to postpone the launch of the game by two weeks to allow for extra manufacturing time.”
In layman’s terms, it sounds like distribution needs to play catch-up. Director Neil Druckmann even issued a tweet on his account with this statement:
We believe you, Neil. Fans have said it time and time again at each delay for Naughty Dog to take its time and make sure the game is developed and delivered as best as possible, and we know you’ll do just that. Besides, we have this weekend’s Multiplayer stress test to enjoy in the meantime!
